Barley Brae
Business Profile
Please don’t just slough us off as another Irish band…we’re much more than that! Have a listen and see!
Barley Brae was originally formed before the year 2000 but underwent many changes over the years, with Scott (bass, kick drum, harmonica and vocals) and Jim (guitar, Lead vocals) being original members. They continue to perform both as a duo and as a trio with occasional added instrumentalists.
Rob has been associated with the Barley Brae Trio on and off for many years but is now a steady member, playing tin whistle, accordion, keyboard and providing supporting vocals.
All members hail from the Niagara region and cover a wide variety of music that sometimes makes the group hard to define. Many consider Barley Brae to be a Celtic band, but song lists that include variations of folk, rock, country, bluegrass etc. allow the band to go off in many different directions. We have a wide selection of Canadian music as well as newer material from such artists as Mumford and Sons and The Tragically Hip. The versatility is far reaching….check the band out and see for yourself.
