If you’re a business owner whose had your computers crash, you’ll relate to what I’m about to unveil. You likely seriously considered that your business may not survive. Now that you’re back on your feet, do you know when you last tested your backups to make sure they can be restored?
Here’s a sobering statistic:
“70% of small firms that experience a major data loss go out of business within a year.”
Contingency Planning, Strategic Research Corp and DTI/Price Waterhouse Coopers (2004)
You really don’t want to wait until disaster strikes!
You can bet I can feel with your pain. I’m an IT guy, I’ve been there, I’ve pulled clients from the brink of disaster more than once. In those days I was never without a backup but a server crash was still ugly – and very costly for my clients.
But that’s changed now. Technology is advanced enough that recovery can be quick and practically pain free. It just takes some planning and a bit of ingenuity. More on that later though. The fact is, if you’ve been down the “network down” road, you don’t want to go back and if you haven’t, you don’t want to!
Your IT guy has likely talked to you about break/fix, managed services, monitoring, remote support… you know, all that mind numbing jargon. The reality is, you can risk your business, pay a fortune for some peace of mind, or let your IT guy think outside of the box. They are computers after all: there are tons of options.
What you don’t want though is to leave it until it’s too late.
You can:
Carry on as You Are
Keep trusting your backups and hope like the dickens that if something major happens, you’ll be able to get back on track in reasonable time.
Buy Into Managed Services
For a monthly fee for each of the computers and devices on your network you can have proactive, all-you-can-eat service. This will be hundreds of dollars a month if not more.
Let Me Help You
I have a system that can get you back on your feet with only minor downtime (an hour or so) in the event of major disaster and will take backups all day long while you work. Far less expensive than managed services and far less damaging to your business when things fall apart.
Couple that with excellent IT support and you have a magic mix of old school break/fix and peace of mind.
I may not be a fit for your business, or I may be exactly what you need. Give me a call or visit my website and let’s find out now, before your business is in crisis mode.

Brianna grew up in the Niagara Region and always knew that she wanted to work in the legal field. After graduating from high school she attended Niagara College and graduated from the Law Clerk Program. As a component of that Law Clerk Program, Brianna completed a co-op placement at a mid-size law firm in Niagara Falls in the Litigation Department. Brianna remained working with that same firm for ten years following graduation.
During her time as a Law Clerk, Brianna worked in various law firms ranging in size, specialties, and accomplishments throughout multiple jurisdictions including: Toronto, Burlington, Hamilton, and the Niagara Region. Being a law clerk allowed Brianna to become accustomed to working proficiently, thoroughly, and to the highest standards possible.
At one firm, Brianna was part of a team that was a pioneer in working without paper. As a result, Brianna became a vital part in introducing and upgrading new technology and software in order to prepare for a paperless future in the law firms where she worked.
After gaining extensive experience, Brianna decided it was time to return to college to pursue Paralegal training at Mohawk College in Hamilton. Brianna completed the Paralegal Program in 2020, obtaining Deans List status in all four semesters and graduating with Honours.
Brianna feels that her many years of experience as a law clerk adds to her ability to assist clients and provide them with their best possible outcome. Brianna is aware that the law can often be intimidating and overwhelming. Brianna’s goal is to help her clients navigate through the legal system and alleviate the stress that often comes with pursuing their legal rights.
Brianna is currently enrolled at the University of London working towards obtaining her LLB to better serve her clients.
